Single Sampling Plan

Under a single sampling plan, the product quality is assessed based on the result of a single sample of items. The sample size (number of units in the sample) is determined by the plan. In contrast, double sampling is when two samples are inspected in order to assess overall product quality and is usually used when a clear decision regarding acceptance or rejection of a lot cannot be made based on a single sample.
