COVID-19

With the situation constantly changing, and with safety as first priority, how can quality-conscious brands maintain their focus?

The current COVID-19 pandemic is set to have implications that extend well into coming seasons and even change for good the way we source, develop and deliver product in the future.

Our priority during the current COVID-19 pandemic has been, and continues to be, the safety and well-being of our workers and those of the factories where we conduct inspections and validation visits.

Beyond that, our primary goal is continuity of support for our customers on their Quality Assurance journey, ensuring that they are able to continue to derive as much value from our inspection, validation and data services as possible during these difficult times - and beyond.

We are committed to working with all other entities throughout the supply chain to identify solutions that protect the interests of all parties without compromising on quality.

In case of any situation or event that has the potential to interrupt the normal operation of our services, we have developed a four step C.A.R.E. approach (Clarify, Adapt, Regulate, Evolve). For more information about C.A.R.E., read our Force Majeure Policy.

Clarify: Your needs

We closely monitor the guidelines and regulations issued by both local government as well as internationally-recognised authorities with regards to the COVID-19 situation.

By constantly maintaining an understanding of the complexities of the situation at all levels, we are able to put our customers’ specific challenges in context and explore practicable solutions based on facts and needs.

In addition, we see it as our responsibility to fact-check policies and statements on a local level to ensure transparency and alignment.

Adapt:  Workflow

We've developed a flow chart to identify options for facilitating 3rd party inspections and other quality assurance measures in the safest way possible.

Thanks to tech and our in-house development team, we are able to offer support, free of charge, to our customers’ factories to provide quality-related data in our format. This has allowed our customers to continue to capture and analyse data in a consistent way, even if our own QC inspectors and validators are unable to access a particular factory location.

Happy Rabbit COVID-19 Workflow

Regulate:  Safety Guidelines

We've outlined a set of safety measures that Happy Rabbit has taken and rules that HR inspectors and factories must follow when conducting inspections.  These guidelines will be updated periodically and customers and subscribers to our newsletter will be informed of any changes.

  • An inspector is to stay at home/not conduct an inspection if he/she has any of the following symptoms: cold, cough, fever
  • If someone in the inspector’s household has a temperature of over 38 degrees Celsius and/or shortness of breath, that inspector should stay at home and not conduct any inspections until such time as everyone in the household has had no complaints for 24 hours.
  • If someone in the inspector’s household has tested positive for COVID-19, he/she must remain at home for a period of 14 days after the last contact.
  • If an inspector has tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies, he/she can work as normal.
  • The factory should make available a dedicated separate space for the inspector to conduct final inspection as well as convenient facilities for frequent hand-washing.
  • Inspectors should carry alcoholic hand sanitizer and use it frequently.

Inspectors and factory workers are asked to:

  • Cough or sneeze into their elbows and use tissue paper (throw away immediately).
  • Wear masks for the duration of the inspection.
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for a duration of 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching their face.
  • Avoid shaking hands.
  • Keep a distance of 1.5 metres from others.

Evolve:  Our promise

Being adaptive and responsive to changing customer needs allows Happy Rabbit to be dynamic in its approach to product and service development. We are committed to continuously evolve our business model and fine tune our service through listening to our customers, learning and iteration.
